Tests and Trials: A Review of Tools and Applications

Tender description

To undertake a review of the tools and applications developed through and as a result of Tests and Trials. A range of tests and trials are testing and/or developing a variety of platforms, tools and applications to help farmers and land managers to deliver environmental land management, (information on the tools and apps is provided below). We wish to procure a review into the applicability and effectiveness of these platforms, tools and applications to help us understand they role they could have in the delivery of the 3 new schemes for environmental land management being developed by Defra. The review must include the following: 1. A technical assessment of the applicability and effectiveness of the tool and apps including; a. how they could support the delivery of the Sustainable Farming Incentive, Local Nature Recovery and Landscape Recovery Schemes and the benefits and issues for further consideration b. how they will integrate with DEFRA systems and what limitations may exist To support this consultants will be expected to work with the Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS) team working within and supporting the development of the new schemes. It is anticipated that this will include meetings throughout the review process. 2. Understanding the range of potential users of the tools and apps, the ease of use for the target users and as assessment of the type and level of input required by end users 3. The extent of scalability of the tools and apps and any issues for consideration 4. Cost implications and administrative burden, including a cost benefit analysis which considers overall value for money. 5. The extent to which the apps/tools could incentivise positive behaviour change and collaboration
