Examine the construction conservation sector’s training needs through consultation with the State’s education providers, building contractors, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders. Based on this, advise on the feasibility of a traditional building skills centre and present, as appropriate, a roadmap for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Traditional Building Skills. The Heritage Council has already assembled much evidence of skills needs (enclosed). This study will chart a path to make available Irish State and NGO traditional building skills training resources. The service required is to assemble the evidence base for administrative arrangements that will deliver significantly improved training provision for this sector.
