Event Co-ordination and related Services for Celebrate Fingal – a series of live events during August & September to support local live performance sector

Overview In March 2021, the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media announced a €50m suite of COVID-19 measures to support the commercial live performance sector to assist producers, promoters and venues to provide support for people in the industry (gov.ie - Minister Martin launches €50m suite of measures to support the Live Performance Sector (www.gov.ie). Of the €50m, an amount of €5m was for allocation to local authorities to support commercial live performance locally. Through the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme, local authorities will facilitate the delivery of outdoor live performances during the Summer of 2021 that animate the public realm, subject to public health guidelines. Performances will be recorded and streamed if health restrictions prevent live events, and if live, performances will be streamed to reach a wider audience base. The scheme will support employment and wellbeing in the commercial arts by engaging the services of local professional artists, musicians, crew and other staff members involved in live music performances during the Summer of 2021. The funding may only be used to support the delivery of the programme of events outlined above and is aimed at the commercial sector i.e. whose primary income is from the commercial activities and does not relay on government subsidence, except for current COVID supports for the sector.
