Tender description

The Environment Agency (referred to from now as the Agency) wishes to let contract(s) to provide Central Management and Co-Ordination Unit (“CMCU”) and Quality Assurance Quality Control Services (“QAQC”) services for the Automatic Urban and Rural Air Quality Monitoring Network (“AURN”). This network provides national monitoring arrangements including those areas covered by Defra, Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs in Northern Ireland collectively known as the DAs. However, the contracts are let by the Agency on behalf of Defra and the DAs, and the specification has been written in co-operation with the Defra Air Quality & Industrial Emissions team. Lot 1: Automatic Urban and Rural Network Management (Central – Co-ordination and Control Unit (CMCU) – Management of 154 UK sites Lot 2: Quality Assurance and Quality Control (Lot 2 – QAQC of LOT 1 sites) Lot 3: Automatic London Network (ALN) – (Lot 3 - Management of 16 London sites) Lot 4: Quality Assurance and Quality Control (Lot 4 – QAQC of LOT 3 sites) Lot 5: Ozone Audits only (6 monthly audit work) – Lot 5
