Japanese knotweed control - River Usk - Brecon Beacons National Park Authority

Tender description

The purpose of this project is to aid in the restoration of the special habitats of the River Usk SAC & SSSI through removal of the Japanese knotweed. The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority (BBNPA), Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) team have recorded locations of Japanese knotweed along the upper sections of the main River Usk and completed one year of herbicide control on an 11km stretch of the river in 2020. This invitation to tender is for: 1 - Follow up herbicide treatment of Japanese knotweed on the 2020 treatment sites (approximately 43 sites, 11km of river both banks) 2 - Expand the herbicide control of Japanese knotweed upstream of the 2020 sprayed sites. (approximately 35 new sites, 11.5 km of river both banks) 3 - Expand the herbicide control of Japanese knotweed downstream of the 2020 sites. (9 new sites, 6 km of river, both banks)
