Frequency Enhancements to the existing Ebbw Valley Railway Line - Consultancy Support

Tender description

This is a VEAT notice of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council's (BGCBC) intention to award a service contract to Transport for Wales (TfW), to provide expert Project and Commercial Management along with technical advice and programme management to enable the delivery of an additional train service from Ebbw Vale to Newport, in support of the Frequency Enhancements to the existing Ebbw Valley Railway Line. The project is part of the aim to increase train capacity (up to four (4) trains per hour) as set out by Welsh Government in the Wales Transport Strategy 2021. Lot 1: The procurement comprises the appointment of Transport for Wales (TfW), to provide Project and Commercial Management along with expert technical advice to enable the Council to deliver an additional train service in support of the Frequency Enhancements to the existing Ebbw Valley Railway Line. Once completed, the project will support Welsh Governments Wales Transport Strategy 2021. Project Roles and Responsibilities include: Provision of expert consultancy advice to the Council in terms of technical, programme and commercial scrutiny of the Implementation Agreement for GRIP Stages 5-8 works, being delivered by Network Rail.
