Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group - Specialist Counselling Services to Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Childhood Service

Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (BSWCCG) is going to award a contract to Revival, Wiltshire RASAC to provide SARC Therapeutic Support Services. The provider has a record of providing services within the locality and it is deemed in the best interest of its clients for this to continue. Revival have provided these services over the past 7 years and the commissioner believes that that the current provider is the only provider capable of meeting their needs for this service and is best placed to continue to build upon work already done with existing health and local community providers. The service delivers: • Specialist Counselling Services to Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Childhood The aims and objectives of the service are; - To promote and protect the mental health of adults who have survived rape and/or sexual abuse at any time in their lives, their partners and children, through the provision of a counselling, support, information and advice service; - Advance the education of the general public in the prevalence and effects of rape or childhood sexual abuse; - The alleviation of the effects of mental distress, depressive illness and post-traumatic stress caused by childhood sexual abuse; - Reduced risk of self-harm and suicide; - Reduced use of alcohol or illicit drugs. The contract has an annualised value of £70,000 and will be award a contract term of 2 years with the possible extension of any period up to a further 1 year at the discretion of the Commissioner. The Services are healthcare services within the meaning and scope of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The Commissioner has voluntarily advertised this notice of intention to award this contract to reach as wide an audience as possible and to promote transparency.
