Tender description

Amey is seeking to appoint an experienced consultant to undertake category III structural assessment checks on bridge structures in accordance with CG 300. The objective of the assessment is to confirm the existing live load capacity of the structure, identify any weak structural elements and use the outcomes as a decision-making tool. The scope of works includes the activities listed below: - a) Review, comment and sign off the Approval in Principle (AIP) b) Review available archived reports, material test results and “As build” drawings to understand the existing structural condition and use the information to agree materials properties with Assessor. c) where necessary witness Inspection for assessment to validate “As built” dimensions, record and document existing condition and to agree a condition factor with the Assessor. d) Develop appropriate structure analysis model, load, extract and combine results in accordance with the limit state/s and standards governing the assessment. e) evaluate element capacities based on existing structure geometry and material strengths obtained from archived information and insitu results provided for this assessment. f) Liaise with Assessor at regular interval to compare, align results and agree structural adequacy factors g) review assessment report to ensure it reflects outcomes of the assessment. h) prepare assessment check certificate using the template in CG 300 Appendix I and sign off.
