Request for information for the provision of an Advanced Stereology System

Tender description

A research project at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) requires an advanced Stereology system including functionality equivalent to an Optical Fractionator probe. A critical requirement of the software is its ability to use the stereological Optical Fractionator probe, or a probe equivalent functionality, directly on the microscope slide in real time to ensure that data can be collected rapidly and assure findings that are unbiased and statistically efficient, even when using small sample sizes. The advanced software package will control critical hardware components contained within a motorized microscope, including the motorized stage, illuminator, filter cubes, and motorized filter turret for optimal fully-automated multi-channel bright field and fluorescent imaging. In addition, the software will have the capability to produce high-quality image stacks for stereology and advanced image analysis. A comprehensive Software Upgrade and Technical Support service package will be required to support this new stereology system.
