Request for Information - Automated Highway Asset Surveys and Data Capture

<p>North Yorkshire County Council (the Council) are considering procuring a single supplier framework (the Framework) for the provision of a system and any necessary hardware for the automatic collection and analysis of carriageway condition data. This would assist in the development and delivery of highway capital programmes and replace manual Course Visual Inspection Surveys where teams of network surveyors drive the network and manually record defects. To improve efficiency, the Council would like to automate this process, using an artificial intelligence (AI) based system to capture high quality imagery of the carriageway network, upload and store that data to a central system, where it is then automatically assessed for defects and can then be exported to the Council&rsquo;s highway asset management system. The Council is aware of interest from other local authorities in procuring such a system and the intention is that other local authorities would be able to call-off their requirements from the Framework. The Framework would commence in Q1 2022/23 and the Council is currently carrying out activities to prepare for the procurement. We want to engage with potential providers at an early stage to help inform that process, ensuring that the Framework is fit for purpose, and provides an innovative and high quality solution offering value for money for local authority customers.</p> Keywords: Highways, Automated, Data , Surveys
