Provision of Technical Support for BIM's Sustainability Improver Programme

Tender description

The Sustainability Improver Programme aims to communicate the value of a sustainable Irish seafood sector across the supply chain from catch to consumer and underpin the power of a single national sustainability standard as a promotion tool. The Sustainability Improver Programme will also help to build scale for product throughput, in the supply chain, and in conjunction with the national sustainability standard, help to differentiate “Irish” product (within the programme) in the marketplace. The Sustainability Improver Programme also aims to capitalise on emerging technologies to enhance the traceability and trust around Irish seafood. The Contracting Authority recommends to tenderers that participants in the Sustainability Improver Programme will be formed from a cluster(s) focusing on FIP members who are whitefish vessels, first point of sale entities and secondary processor(s). The successful tenderer will develop an approach that will increase the awareness of the trust and transparency of a clusters(s) sustainability touchpoints awareness in the market and to increase the consideration of their buyers for their seafood because of the sustainability strategy.
