Job Title: Senior Accountant Rate of Pay: £18.53 per hour (PAYE) however open to negotiation. This role falls within IR35. Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Working from home Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency for 12 weeks with a view to extend until 30th November 2021 Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role. Brief description: We are looking to recruit to two Senior Accountant posts within the Finance Team at Sandwell Council. This is to provide additional capacity in a number of areas. Reporting to a Principal Accountant the role includes: - • The provision of financial information • Advice and guidance to budget holders and service managers throughout the financial cycle. • Undertaking financial appraisals for capital projects with specific focus on the Towns Fund • Assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards such as IFRS 16 and a new fixed asset register system • Contributing to the production of the Statement of Accounts and provision of working papers for external auditors. It would be beneficial if the successful candidate has experience of/qualifications in project management and knowledge of Oracle Fusion as the Council is in the process of implementing this as it's ERP system.
