Library Vehicle - Purchase of

Tender description

Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council wish to procure a Public Mobile Library which will incorporate the cleanest and greenest vehicle with the latest technology to provide a multifunctional space which will be used to serve community groups across the Borough.   In order to ensure that we meet the requirements laid out in the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council Climate Change Plan we will be considering EV, Hybrid and Diesel chassis options.   Solar panels will be fitted to the roof of the vehicle to power auxiliary batteries and equipment.   This multifunctional space will carry up to 3000 books with an approximate weight of 1500kg.  It must also accommodate fold down tables/chairs to facilitate other events and use by community groups.   Sufficient provision must be made for the use of IT by both staff and customers and the option of a Smartserve Kiosk will be explored.  An induction loop is also essential.
