Healthy Weight Training

Tender description

(1) To offer training to maternity and early years health professionals to ensure they feel confident and competent to provide appropriate, up to date, consistent and evidence-based lifestyle advice as well as being able to signpost families and children to the appropriate national and local services. (2) To develop a whole-school healthy weight programme with will require healthy weight training for all professionals working with children, young people and families around appropriate advice and communication tools, along with signposting to local and national services for children identified as having excess weight through the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP). (3) To promote awareness of weight management services among health professionals to increase referrals for adults with excess weight by integrating a healthy weight and referral care pathway into a training programme about brief advice interventions. (4) To facilitate a healthy weight environment by training non-health professionals in the community on how to raise the issue of healthy weight and direct residents to healthy weight services and facilities around the borough.
