Tender description

Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) will be commencing a Prior Information Notice (PIN) and Market Engagement for Genomics Education Programme to Support the Development and Implementation of a Workforce Development Strategy for Pharmacy. The Genomics Education Programme (GEP) was established in 2014 following an initial investment from the Department of Health to pump prime genomic education and training activity to support the delivery of the 100,000 Genomes Project. At the beginning of financial year 2018/19 the GEP became part of business as usual within Health Education England (HEE) and in collaboration with NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE/I) continues to support the newly launched NHS Genomic Medicine Service (GMS). As the GMS evolves the GEP has a role in providing education and training required to upskill and support the healthcare workforce in the delivery of the new service. In addition, there is a requirement to provide the same for the wider NHS workforce. With Genomics becoming more relevant in community services we need to ensure we have the right knowledge, skills and behaviours to deliver the service This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. We also plan to hold a Market Engagement session on Monday 2nd August 2021 to share more information with organisations interested in potential opportunity. The event will provide an opportunity for potential providers to find out more about the aims of the tender, the process that we anticipate following, general discussion and an opportunity to network. Please RSVP by Thursday 29th July 2021 by 4pm with the name, title and contact details for attendees (a maximum of two attendees per organisation) to: genomicseducation@hee.nhs.uk An invite to the MS Teams session will be sent prior to Monday 2nd August 2021. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence and may influence and inform the development of the final tender. The contracting authority reserves the right not to proceed with the Procurement, or any part thereof, or change the requirements as necessary at any time. The Contracting Authority requests that all communications are channelled through the e-portal system and not with the Contracting Authority itself other than as expressly permitted within this ITQ. The procurement will be conducted as an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and is expected to be published Early August 2021. A separate advert will be released advising the opportunity. https://health-family.force.com/s/Welcome
