Tender description
Defra has launched a new GRANT infrastructure fund for the development of animal border control posts (BCPs). The initiative follows recent consultation with the market on feasibility. The £10 million Animal Biosecurity Infrastructure Fund (ABIF) will provide eligible applicants with the opportunity to apply for a grant for the start-up costs of building a BCP for animal imports from Continental Europe. Eligible applicants include English maritime ports outside Kent which currently handle animal imports from Continental Europe and commercial operators which propose to develop a BCP to cover animal imports for an eligible maritime port. If you are interested in this opportunity and think you may be eligible, please take the following steps to register here on Bravo: 1. Select ‘Register now’. 2. Accept the terms and conditions and select ‘Continue’. 3. Enter your organisation and user details. 4. Make a note of the username you chose and select ‘Save’. Next, sign the non-disclosure agreement by no later than 23:59 hrs on 16 February and return to us using the Bravo eMessenger. Please note that you cannot proceed with an application for funding without completing this step. Once the NDA has been received and we are content that you are eligible to apply, we will then issue further documents that you will need to complete your application. This will be issued to you via Bravo eMessenger. Eligible applicants will be invited to Design Calls with Defra and the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) to provide support with the BCP design for your application. All application documents will need to be completed and submitted electronically through Bravo by 23:59hrs on 23 March. If you have any queries, please submit a message through Bravo.
