Goose marksman contract, Isle of Islay

Tender description

The appointed contractor will be required to carry out the licensed shooting of barnacle geese, as part of a programme of scaring designed to prevent serious agricultural damage. These works are carried out as part of the Islay Goose Management Scheme. Possession of suitable firearms and accompanying certificates, in addition to a driving licence, are essential. The contractor will work closely with the NatureScot office in Bowmore and the local farming community. The contract is initially for the period 1 November 2021 to 31 March 2022 with possibility of extension to a two-year (seasonal) contract.
