Summary of the work Will work as part of the multidisciplinary digital team to define and deliver user research and testing plans for the Acas website and other projects, using a variety of methods. They will analyse and present findings ensuring that content and service decisions are evidenced based and user centred. Specialist role User researcher Expected Contract Length Initially 18 months with option to extend Latest start date Tuesday 27 July 2021 Maximum Day Rate Up to £600 ex VAT per day. Working hours of 9 - 5.15 excludes travel expenses to Victoria St. Additional expenses only paid with prior approval of Acas. Who Speclialist Work With The role will be part of a multi disciplinary team that includes product and delivery managers, content designers, developers and UX design. It will also provide support to a other projects and programmes as required, working with other individual contractors as well as third party suppliers. Part of the role will be to help upskill in-house associate user researchers. What Specialists Work On The user researcher will a) Define and deliver user research and testing plans for the corporate website and other projects b) Participate in user research and testing sessions, leading interviews and testing and taking notes c) Use a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods d) Clearly communicate findings to the team and stakeholders using a variety of methods including verbal updates, presentations and reports e) Help other teams understand what user research is and how to work with user researchers f) Be an active part of the Acas user research team and help upskill associate user researchers Skills & Experience • 2+ years' experience developing and implementing user research and testing plans on complex projects or services (30%) • 2+ years' experience designing and creating surveys, card sorts, tree jacks and other types of data collection activities (30%) • 1+ years' experience testing (10%) • Proven presentation skills and the ability of communicate clearly (10%) • Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders (5%) • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure (5%) Nice to Haves • Experience of working to GOV.UK standards including the Service Design Standard, design patterns and style guide (5%) • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary agile team (5%) Work Location Windsor House, Victoria St, Westminster, London SW1H 0TL Working Arrangments This will be primarily a remote role, with regular (potentially weekly or twice a week) travel to the main office in Victoria St. Acas will pay travel expenses to locations outside London.
