Tender description

This is a contract award notice. The contracting authority requires commodity computer systems for training state-of-art artificial intelligence systems based on neural network technologies (CNN, GANs, etc). Three main categories of equipment are sought: (i) personal dual-GPU computers for use by individual Ph.D. or postdoctoral researchers in a tower case that can be placed on or under the desk; (ii) shared GPU servers systems which will be used by small teams (3-4 persons) working on a specific project but sharing a common codebase or sets of experimental data; these can be either rack-mounted, or in a tower case; a multi-port network interface, is required; (iii) personal single-GPU laptop computers to be used by individual researches for prototyping code. Lot 1: Personal Multi-GPU Desktop Computer Tower case node; suitable for on-desk or under-desk use in office environment. — Single-CPU; 12-Core; 128 GB RAM (non-ECC RAM is acceptable); — desirable: RAM upgrade options; CPU upgrade options — 2 x 24GB GPU; Fast GPU-to-GPU Bus (50 Gbps transfer rate minimum); — 2 x 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD; — desirable: option to upgrade to higher capacity M2 NVMe SSD; — desirable: option to add SATA HDD/SSD storage; — 1 x 10 Gbe network interface [chipset must be Linux compatible]; — desirable: 2 or 4-port network interface or higher data rates; — front and rear USB3.2 Gen 1 (or equivalent) ports; — basic HDMI Monitor; — desirable: monitor upgrades; — 3 year warranty and back-to-base servicing. Lot 2: Multi-user Multi-GPU Network Computer — tower or rack case — single-CPU; 20 core or higher; 256 GB RAM; (non-ECC is acceptable); — desirable: ECC RAM; RAM/CPU upgrade options; dual-CPU option; — 4 @ 24 GB GPU; GPU-to-GPU Bus (50 Gbps transfer rate between paired GPU). Note: fewer GPU with higher memory spec is also acceptable. — desirable: option to upgrade to 6 or 8 GPU — 2 @ 4TB M.2 NVMe SSD with write rate 2000MByte/s+, read rate 3000MByte/s +; — desirable: option to upgrade to higher capacity M2 NVMe SSD; — desirable: options to add SATA HDD/SSD storage capacity; — desirable: internal NAS support, or high-speed external NAS I/O; — 2 Port 25 Gbe network interface (chipset must be Linux compatible); — desirable: 4-port network interface or faster data rates; — desirable: USB3.2 Gen 1 (or equivalent) ports; — 3 year warranty and back-to-base servicing; — desirable: on site servicing. Lot 3: Laptops with GPUs Single CPU i7 8 cores or higher; — desirable: CPU upgrade options; — minimum 32 GB DDR4, 2,666 MHz RAM or equivalent; — desirable: 64 GB DDR4 RAM or faster RAM upgrade; — single GPU 8GB GDDR6; compatible with AI frameworks such as Tensorflow, Pytorch; — desirable: GPU upgrades; — 2 @ 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD with write rate 3000MByte/s+, read rate 3000MByte/s+; — desirable: 1 @ 2TB NVMe SSD option can be substituted; — desirable: option to upgrade to higher capacity M2 NVMe SSDs; — 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n Wifi, Bluetooth (or equivalent); — desirable: 1 Gbps ethernet port or ethernet adapter; — minimum 2 x USB 3.1 ports; camera and micropohone to support videoconferencing; — desirable: 4 x USB 3.2 and/or thunderbolt/USB-C ports; — 3 year warranty and back-to-base servicing.
