Disposal of Waste Collected from the Public Realm

Thurrock Council’s requirement under this contract is for a Contractor to provide a delivery point for Contract Waste that has derived from:a) Street cleansingb) Clearance of Flytippingc) Highways Clearanced) Grounds Maintenance Activitiese) Caretaking Activitiesf) Storesg) Other Council activities that have not been specified, excluding kerbside collected waste and waste derived from the Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) The Contractor must provide a local delivery point that is based within the boundary of Thurrock and must be able to provide facilities for separation of recycling from waste within the delivery point and must follow all of the principles of the Waste Hierarchy. Landfill disposal should only be an option if there are no other alternatives.
