96TS Jubilee Line Underframe Modifications Project- Structural modifications

Tender description

The Jubilee line Underframe Modifications Project (JUMP) is currently undertaking an option definition/feasibility exercise to correct structural and drawgear issues on the Jubilee line fleet. This questionnaire is part of early market engagement to inform the options and understand the market capability and capacity to deliver a solution. At the feasibility stage LU assumes that a contract will be awarded to a single supplier that must provide the following: • Redesign the coupler support bracket to improve of load transfer into the car body. • Redesign carbody structure to withstand the duty cycle loads from current operations • To demonstrate and provide evidence of successful improvement of load transfer into car body using appropriate engineering analysis • To demonstrate adequate proof and fatigue load requirements will be met At feasibility it is assumed that the supplier may provide the following (or provide through subcontract) • Production of prototype units for testing and analysis • Static and dynamic testing of proposed solution to provide evidence that proof and fatigue load requirements have been met • Replace coupler support bracket and inner longitudes across the entire fleet Lot 1: The Jubilee line Underframe Modifications Project (JUMP) is currently undertaking an option definition/feasibility exercise to correct structural and drawgear issues on the Jubilee line fleet.
