Summary of the work We're looking for a user researcher to join us to work on discovery we are doing with Sport Wales. The question for discovery is “How can Sport Wales increase the reach and impact of their community investments (grants)?”. Specialist role User researcher Expected Contract Length 6 months with the option of a 25% extension (6 weeks) Latest start date Monday 14 June 2021 Maximum Day Rate £600 inclusive of travel expenses if travel becomes required Who Speclialist Work With You'll be joining an experienced agile coach and product manager from the Centre and a service owner and subject matter experts from Sport Wales. You’ll be coaching the wider team on user research and user centred design. What Specialists Work On We're looking for a user researcher to join us to work on a discovery we are doing with Sport Wales. The question for discovery is “How can Sport Wales increase the reach and impact of their community investments (grants)?” There is no incumbent in this role at present. Skills & Experience • identify and build strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing and collaborating with them to improve our user focus and their understanding of user centered design. • Design qualitative research methodologies to maximise insight in fast paced, agile environments • coaching small teams in user research practices and user centred design • Engage in meaningful interactions and relationships with users. • Interpret evidence-based research and incorporate this into your work • Synthesise research findings rapidly using appropriate tools and techniques into user needs, expressed as user stories • Bring insights and learnings to life for colleagues in the most appropriate ways, including through presentations and printed or online artefacts Nice to Haves • Professional-level fluency in Welsh language • demonstrable experience of working in the Welsh Public Sector Work Location Working remotely Working Arrangments We expect this work will be done remotely for the foreseeable future. Should official guidance change during the duration of this engagement, you may be expected to attend meetings across Wales. Travel is not a requirement at this point. Any questions around travel would be discussed with the successful specialist to ensure it is something they are comfortable with and done within all COVID guidelines. Is there an incumbent in the role? I believe I stated in the opportunity there is no incumbent in this role 2. Can you please confirm the IR35 status on this piece of work? A status determination suggests this role would be outside IR35 . 3. Will the successful supplier be required to produce any supporting materials such as wireframes and prototypes, or do you have that capability in place already? We don’t know at this point.
