Single Party Framework for the Supply of Ice Plant Engineering Services to Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM)

Tender description

As part of its support services to the fishing industry, BIM provides quality flake ice to the fishing vessels and associated industries in the main fishing ports around the Irish coast. Currently there are six ice plants located in the following ports:- • Howth • Kilmore Quay • Dunmore East • Union Hall • Castletownbere • Rossaveal The overall annual production is approximately 10,000 tonnes on average over the last three (3) years. The ice plants operate on a 24/7 basis. BIM currently employs one full time person at each plant to deal with the distribution of the ice and liaise with BIM’s head office in relation to ongoing issues. It is imperative that BIM has a constant stock of ice to meet local demand at each plant. BIM requires the provision of engineering services to support the safe operation of the ice plant network. The successful Contractor shall provide general engineering support to the ice plant network to ensure the building fabric, mechanical and electrical services are maintained to an acceptable standard. The successful Contractor shall commission condition survey reports as appropriate (with the approval of BIM and at the additional cost to BIM) to inform annual updates to maintenance plans.
