This contract is for Regulation 44 Visits by an Independent Person. The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (Regulation 44) require all providers of Children’s Residential Homes, to secure monthly visits (as a minimum) by an Independent Person to undertake a rigorous and impartial assessment of the home’s arrangements for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children in the home’s care. There are currently 10 children’s homes that are maintained by Durham County Council that require monthly Regulation 44 Visits by an Independent Person. Durham are scheduled to develop up to a further 7 children’s homes over the course of the contract and it is anticipated that the contract will be subject to variation as each of the homes are developed and registered with Ofsted to ensure that each of the new homes meet the Regulation 44 requirements.
