Public health services for three main areas: - Sexual health services The provision of an easily accessible and confidential sexual and reproductive health service is vital for the well-being of individuals and their communities. LBTH has a mandated responsibility to commission accessible sexual and reproductive services for residents. The sexual health and contraception NIS aims to delivery high quality services in primary care settings, making it easier for people to access services closer to their home and in familiar settings. - NHS Health Checks NHS health check programme is a statutory public health function commissioned by the local authority, part funded by the CCG and delivered in primary care networks. It is offered to adults aged 40-74 and is designed to detect early signs of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and dementia. There is strong cross partnership commitment to ensure the Tower Hamlets approach to Health Checks continues to lead best practice, innovates and is informed by a clear evidence base in order to make a significant contribution to reducing health inequalities. - Substance Misuse The aim of this enhanced GP substance misuse service is to encourage practices to be aware of and assess problematic substance use, including alcohol related problems and to identify and support all patients aged 18 and over who are currently registered with them and receiving treatment for their substance misuse at the Reset Tower Hamlets Drug and Alcohol Service. The service will be focused on the general health of this population, identification of alcohol misuse and where agreed and appropriate, opiate substitute treatment prescribing. Lot 1: The service focus on primary care as an essential role in improving the health and wellbeing of Tower Hamlets residents. The services are funded through the public health grant.
