Cheshire East Council is commissioning a provider(s) to provide a coordinated Volunteer Family Support Service for families that need additional support through early intervention and prevention. The service specification describes the need for a family support volunteering service to offer local support and help to families with children who need practical and emotional support, to better manage their families post lockdown to promote safety, stability and independence. The specification focuses on the successful organisation(s) providing these services directly to local families. To do this they will need to create teams of experienced volunteers (including parents and carers) who will need to be trained and supported to work directly with young people and their parents/carers who would benefit from additional help and practical support.
