The provision of services to develop pin-boning technology for Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus)

Tender description

The Contracting Authority is seeking a suitably qualified service provider with the appropriate technical expertise to develop and trial a bespoke automated pin boning prototype(s) for Atlantic mackerel over a 12-month period. The successful Tenderer will develop relevant prototypes and trial it with Irish pelagic processors in situ to ensure it aligns with existing automated and manual processing practices and delivers a commercially appropriate complementary solution. Detailed trials must be conducted to determine capacity, yield, and the quality of boneless product attained. Mackerel products must also be market tested to gauge customer feedback and potential value opportunities to be gained in existing and new markets.
