Provision of Advanced Recirculating Aquaculture Multi-Tropic Pond (RAMP) system & Aquaponics service

Tender description

The services comprise of the provision of services relating to an advanced Recirculating Aquaculture Multi-Trophic Pond (RAMP) and aquaponics unit. To include provision of juvenile perch and growout in an integrated RAMPS & aquaponics system for purposes of demonstration of circular economy principles with proposed climate neutral activity. In line with the objectives of creating a circular economy as per the EU farm to fork strategy and mitigating against nutrient discharges from freshwater fish farms, the Contracting Authority wishes to build on work carried out on RAMPS systems. The objective of the work programme in 2021 will be to test the integration of RAMPS systems into aquaponics systems. The work will require complete nutrient management and assimilation including the provision of a demonstration facility. The ability of aquaculture to develop carbon neutral activities of food production will be central to future production.
