Provision in Digitised Form of Financial Statements filed with the Companies Registration Office

Every company, whether trading or not, is obliged to file an annual return (Form B1) with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) once at least in every calendar year. Financial statements (accounts) must generally be filed with the annual return; these financial statements are currently filed in paper form or as .PDF documents and there is no facility for filing in digitised format. The CRO does not digitise the financial statements; instead, these are copied and made available to clients on a commercial basis as .TIF and .PDF files. Bulk data customers of the CRO can obtain scanned images of the financial statements in bulk from the CRO. The Central Statistics Office hereby invites tenders for the provision in digitised form of financial statements filed with the Companies Registration Office. The successful tenderer will access, independently of the CSO, the financial statements (accounts) filed by companies with the CRO and held by that organisation, currently in .TIF and .PDF format. In accessing the financial statement documents, the successful tenderer will decide on whether it is appropriate to become, or continue as, a bulk data customer of the CRO. The successful tenderer will interpret the financial statements filed with the CRO, identify the information required to provide the columns identified by CSO as relevant for statistical analysis and convert this information to digitised format. Each delivery must contain all the financial statements data filed by companies with the CRO in the previous calendar quarter.
