Tender description
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall (OPCC) is inviting academic institutions and social research organisations from across the South West region and the wider United Kingdom to join a new Evidence Based Practice Partnership Board focussing on addressing crime and criminal justice matters across Devon and Cornwall. The Partnership will be a collaborative arrangement, in which all parties involved agree to work together to achieve a common purpose or undertake a specific task while sharing risks, responsibilities, resources and benefits in a transparent and accountable manner. Creating a new partnership involves time, energy and resources. Yet the benefits of an effective evidence-based practice partnership are clear. We can expect a successful partnership of this nature to encourage experimentation, exploration, efficiency, and effective practice. The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) will be investing £30,000 in 2021/22 into the partnership and the OPCC seeks match funding from other partners to join the board. The partnership will jointly agree the match funding for subsequent years. Consortiums will be considered and encouraged. The primary purpose of the partnership board is for academics and social research organisations to identify new and creative evidence-based ways they can work together to reduce crime and reoffending in Devon and Cornwall. The OPCC commissions, invests in, and collaborates on a wide range of projects designed to prevent crime and the Board will play an important role to facilitate evidence-based innovation in responding to the causes and consequences of crime.
