Engineering Consultancy Services at Various Defence Forces Site

Tender description

A number of different Defence Forces’ locations currently require upgrade works to their services infrastructure. It is proposed to retain a single Engineering Consultant to provide the design, procurement and construction oversight required for the projects. A summary of the locations, project scopes and the currently planned commencement dates for construction work on site are as follows: 1. Stephens’ Barracks, Kilkenny – upgrade water and extend natural gas distribution networks – budget allocation €450k including VAT. Commence on site in 2020. 2. Aiken Barracks, Dundalk, Co. Louth – provision of local natural gas fired heating centres around Barracks to replace supplies taken from district heating installation; including provision of gas connection to individual locations not currently served – budget allocation €600k including VAT. Commence on site in 2021. 3. Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Dublin 22 – upgrade of water distribution network - budget allocation €850k including VAT. Commence on site in 2021. 4. Dun Ui Mhaoliosa, Renmore, Galway – upgrade water and electrical and extend natural gas distribution networks - budget allocation €500k including VAT. Commence on site in 2022. 5. Finner Camp, Ballyshannon, Donegal – upgrade water and LPG distribution networks - budget allocation €400k including VAT. Commence on site in 2022. The extent of the Works, the budget costs and possible starting dates for the work on site are initial estimates for financial planning purposes. The extent of the Works required for each project will come out of the Stage 1 investigation and consultation processes at the locations, which will lead on to an estimate of the expected cost for the extent of work anticipated and the funding capacity to undertake them in a particular year.
