The Happy Older People (HOP) network is not an organisation in it's own right with a coordinator hosted by National Museums Liverpool. The post holder's responsibilities are dedicated to the HOP network and not other museum activity. The HOP would cease to exist without coordination. To fund the coordination of the network provides significant benefits to the older population of Liverpool, that can capitalise on other resources of National Museum's Liverpool as well as the contacts and resources that being the largest group of museums outside of London. By it's nature this is a specialist service, that could not be reproduced elsewhere successfully, or be successful if the post was hosted by a different organisation. House of Memories has been designed by National Museum’s Liverpool. They commissioned the development of the My House of Memories app and owns the code asset and all rights to further development The House of Memories on the Road, will make use of the app as the second element within this service. Additionally, NML own the immersive vehicle, which will enable the facilitation of House of Memories on the Road Therefore, this is a specialist provision. This is affordable and evidenced by Andrew Buck's approval of the DP report regarding this service, evidence of spend freeze panel approval attached along with the fully approved DP report itself.
