Delivery Manager

Tender description

Tasks will include: - Lead for Defra on the design and test of BCP operator services through a third-party supplier - Planning and delivering site testing strategy and handover to users - Working effectively across technical, policy, planning and contractor teams to develop technical solutions to construction and delivery issues - Delivery planning, risk assessment and project management - Sharing technical support to Devolved Administrations, and managing technical relationships with counterparts to inform and advise on progress - Input into design meetings. - Attending sites as needed - Managing delivery by multiple work-streams and coordinating activities of delivery partners, including Other Government Departments, sub-contractors and consultants to ensure delivery to cost, time, quality and scope, actively engaging senior level support when required. - Significant input into project and programme plans. - Identifying, monitoring and managing technical and commercial risks and issues. Developing mitigating strategies and escalating as appropriate. - Identifying and working with related projects to manage interdependencies. - Maintaining and delivering against other project controls (including planning, assumptions, decisions, change control and configuration management) - Ensuring the required project and programme reporting is completed through the various Defra and cross-Government governance structures in an agreed timely manner. - Ensuring effective support of the technology and procurement work-stream through an active relationship with the Senior Project Managers, in order to ensure progress against plan milestones is achieved. - Ensuring that assurance, approval and governance processes are met for your delivery areas, reporting, costing, risk assessing and escalating as require - Communicating Defra project vision and status effectively with internal and external stakeholders - Ensuring that effective business as usual and on-going service management is in place post go-live of the project
