Collection, treatment and recycling of mechanical street sweepings waste that has been collected by the 5 Suffolk Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) and delivered to their depots.The collection and haulage of this waste is to be arranged by the contractor other than where the treatment point is within a reasonable distance of the WCA depot (Any decisions to deliver directly would be at the discretion of the Suffolk Waste Partnership).Treatment means the mechanical and/or biological treatment of the waste to produce materials that can be recycled or recovered.All recycling of this waste must meet Environment Agency definitions for recycling. Landfill daily cover (below the engineered cap) or landfill as Inert material will not be accepted.
