Tender description

Vehicle must be in B driving licence category. Not exceeding DGVW 3,500 kg Diesel Preferred The vehicle should not exceed 2000 cc The ideal vehicle should not exceed 2 meters in high The vehicle must have a configuration of driver plus 5 including front seat passenger or driver plus 3 and one wheelchair service user including the front seat passenger. Ideally the vehicle should have a Bluetooth phone hands free kit or similar device. Wrapped or Painted in white Livery in Irish Red Cross design for community support vehicles (available on request) One passenger seat in addition to driver in front with access to rear of vehicle from front cab. Individual seating for two passengers in second row, with access to sliding doors on both sides. Seats should have integrated seat belts and have ability to be moved, adjusted or possibly removed. Arm rest would be optimal but not critical. Space between seats to allow wheelchair service user to sit between. This space should be 685 mm to accommodate most wheelchairs. Row 3 should be tip and tilt seats; Seat belts should be integrated and the option to move or remove would be ideal. The internal floor should be lowered and be level from back door to just behind the front row. Rear door should allow access for any electric or manual wheel chair currently on the market. There should be a manual or electric taxi style ramp fitted to allow the safe loading of wheel chair and service user with a minimum weight capacity of 250kg. This ramp should allow a head space of 1470 mm for the loading and unloading of service users. The wheel chair should be able to be fixed between the two seats in row 2 and/or slightly behind. All fixing anchors and straps must be provided with the vehicle for securing the wheelchair and service user and must meet or exceed industry safety standards.
