Tender description

Upgrade electrical equipment at the Brant, Sand Syke, Witham and Till pumping stations to comply with current safety legislation, fire safety requirements and the relevant Environment Agency MTRs for SIA. Control buildings will be modified to improve their fire resistance and enhance their security against the vandalism and theft prevalent in each location. All pump starters will be changed to soft starters, to reduce the motor stress and increase the residual life of each pump. Desilting will be undertaken at Witham Washlands to remove the silt which currently prevents the sluice gates fully closing.
