Building Services (M & E) Engineering Services for 2 Classroom ASD Base at Corracrin National School Emyvale Co. Monaghan

Tender description

The project scope consists of the design and construction of two new base ASD classrooms including all ancillary works to broadly include a central activities space, two new classrooms, safe base rooms, multi-sensory room, toilets including ambulant disabled toilets, shower room, cleaner’s stores, office space and other supporting space. External works include the provision of a new sensory garden and secure play area and landscaping. The works will also include any necessary linkage to the existing main school building and its environs. The total schedule of area is estimated at circa 439m2 for internal works with approximately 300m2 of external works. Funding for the works has been approved by the Department of Education to the total sum of €1.1 million including VAT. The proposed works will require planning permission, fire safety certificate and other statutory approvals. The works will be completed within a live primary school environment and therefore extreme care must be taken to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the pupils, staff and visitors to the school. The works should therefore be designed and planned to take into consideration these factors and to minimise the impact of noise, access and other such areas on the daily operation of the school.
