Ballaghveny landfill weighbridge system

Tender description

Tipperary County Council has a requirement to procure and install a cloud hosted weighbridge software system at Tipperary County Council’s Ballaghveny landfill site at Woodville, Ballymackey, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, E45 V271. There is an existing weighbridge in place at this site which has not been used for several years and was last calibrated in 2013. This tender is for the service and calibration of this weighbridge as well as the provision of weighbridge software, cloud hosted facilities, a driver operated weighing system and new traffic barriers, to enable the weighbridge to be brought back in to use, as an automated weighbridge. The software solution required is to facilitate the capture of data at the weighbridge. Data entry will be either through the driver operated terminal or through the weighbridge PC terminal. The frequency of transactions at the weighbridge is expected to be one approximately every 15minutes, with more frequent use at times. We would expect less than 15,000 total transactions per annum. There will be approximately ten Tipperary County Council user accounts who will require viewing access to the data on the cloud. There will also be a requirement to issue user accounts (cards or fobs) to drivers for various customers for the driver operated system. The bandwidth connectivity at the site is a MPLS network connection @ 100Mbps. There will be a requirement for the data to be stored at the weighbridge software PC (local instance) and uploaded to the cloud periodically throughout the day (e.g. twice a day). The contract duration is for two years with the option for two twelve-month extensions.
