Provision of Engineering Consultancy Services, with PSDP as a Specialist Skill Eglinton Canal Repairs & Painting of Railings, Galway

Lough Corrib Navigation Trust c/o Galway City Council (the Client) as the Contracting Authority is seeking to procure Engineering Consultancy Services to design and manage the schedule of works that are to be undertaken to the railings along the towpath and roadside of the Eglinton Canal in Galway City. The extent of the works area is from the O’ Shaughnessy Pedestrian Bridge at the entrance to the NUIG Campus downstream to Wolfe Tone Bridge at Ravens Terrace. The metal railings are in a poor state of repair at a number of locations and have been damaged by vehicle impacts where they are immediately adjacent to the public road. There is also evidence of previous repairs using mild steel plates and bars. Works are to include the carrying out of repairs, replacement of damaged or missing sections and on-site painting. The successful consultant’s project team shall consist of the following expertise: 1. Structural Engineering Services 2. Environmental Services 3. Employer’s Representative 4.
