CO1296 Project Management Services for Future High Street - Trowbridge

Tender description

The government launched Our Plan for the High Street at Budget 2018. The aim of the Future High Streets Fund is to renew and reshape town centres and high streets in a way that drives growth, improves experience and ensures future sustainability. It will do this by providing co-funding to successful applicants to support transformative and structural changes to overcome challenges in their area. Wiltshire Council worked with a range of partners and stakeholders to develop a business case submission and in December 2021 received an in-principle offer to develop a range of different projects, including the following projects: - Transport improvements to turn the northern gyratory into a two-way traffic system, enabling the pedestrianisation of the high street from the northern gateway. Physical enhancements to enable a safer pedestrian access to the River Biss around the town bridge area. Delivery of environmental enhancements and planting to improve accessibility, connectivity and legibility of the town centre. - The refurbishment and extension of the Grade 2 listed Town Hall (see Appendix B although this is indicative at this stage and doesn't represent a final approved scheme) and adjacent Market Hall safeguarding its long-term sustainability and maximising the capacity for the building to host an exciting and vibrant full programme of community-led leisure, culture and social activities within the heart of Trowbridge Town Centre. - Vacant units fund to enable change of use and associated structural changes to vacant units on the high street.
