Tender description

The overall objective of this research and development project is to develop a low cost, calibration-free rumen pH sensor that will operate within the rumen of cattle for a period of up to three years. CSL are partnering with four other organisations to develop and test a new rumen bolus which will incorporate a state-of-the-art pH sensor. The bolus will be tested within a rumen environment, both in vitro and in vivo and will be evaluated in production animals. Research partners include a leading pH sensor design company, a specialist bolus design company, a leading animal nutrition company and Queen’s University, Belfast.
