Tender description

Lot 1: Parallel bio reactor platform University College Dublin wish to purchase a parallel bioreactor platform as a part of the SFI funded BEACON Bioeconmy Research Centre. Lot 2: Bio reactor for continuous culture University College Dublin wish to purchase a bioreactor platform for continuous culture as a part of a H2020 research project funded by the European Commission. This project know as Mix-Up will develop processes for the upcycling of plastic waste to monomers and novel biodegradable polymers. Lot 1: Parallel bio reactor platform University College Dublin wish to purchase a parallel bioreactor platform as a part of the SFI funded BEACON Bioeconmy Research Centre. The remit of this centre is to develop sustainable novel processes and products using bio-based resources, creating clusters for new industry partnerships and delivering the expertise and trained workforce to translate new technologies into new sustainable products, processes, markets and industries. The bioreactor platform must allow for scalable design of experiments. The system must be easily interchangeable between mammalian and microbial cell cultures. The platform must be able to run as integrated and/or individual set of bioreactors with individual setpoints (e.g. Temp., pH, etc.). Standard control over temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen is essential with additional exhaust gas analysis capability with automatic individual online oxygen transfer rates (OTR), carbon dioxide transfer rate (CTR) and respiratory quotient (RQ) calculations to be used for process driven decisions included as a separate line item. These capabilities must allow researchers to perform design of experiments to facilitate scouting for process scale up. The bioreactor platform must be suitable to be primarily used for continuous culture experiments and will require pumps to accommodate this. The bioreactor platform will offer standard control over temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen as essentials with additional exhaust gas analysis capability with automatic individual online oxygen transfer rates (OTR), carbon dioxide transfer rate (CTR) and respiratory quotient (RQ) calculations to be used for process driven decisions to be quoted as separate line items. These capabilities must allow researchers to perform design of experiments to facilitate scouting for process scale up.
