Tender description

The Trading Standards Service enforces provisions of the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Agriculture Act 1970 within the administrative boundaries of Nottinghamshire County Council. The Service is responsible for ensuring that food for human consumption, animal feed and fertilisers meet legislative requirements in terms of quality, composition and labelling. Fundamental to this is the analysis of samples taken by the Service’s officers and subsequent opinion of suitably qualified experts. Examples of typical types of sampling and testing can be found in Appendix one.
