New Fleet Research, Consultation and Concept Testing

Iarnród Éireann wishes to engage a Market Research Specialist to undertake a research and concept testing exercise that will; (1) Provide an understanding of the passengers’ and operating staff views of the design elements and features of the existing vehicles operating in the GDA; (2) Provide an understanding of passengers’ and operating staff expectations of the new vehicles by identifying the vehicle design elements and features that are considered to be service user and service provider: (a) fundamental requirements; (b) critical satisfaction requirements; and (c) experience enhancements. (3) Supported by robust research evidence, provide recommendations on the required design elements and features that will fulfil the passengers’ and operating staff expectations. (4) Supported by robust concept testing results, provide recommendations that will enable the development of a new vehicle design that is likely to successfully fulfil the passengers’ and operating staff expectations. It is proposed that a contract award will be made on the basis of all work packages however Package 3 and Package 4 will form the initial contract award. The decision to proceed with Package 1 and Package 2 will be made post contract award.
