Mechanical Services (Heating & Water) Emergency Works Upgrade

Tender description

The scope of the works includes the following: a) De-commission, isolate, drain down, removel and dispose of the redundant oil fired boiler the main boiler room and all associated header pipework and services including the oil storage tank and remaining heating oil to a licenced waste recycling facility. b) De-commission, isolate, drain down, remove and dispose of the redundant steel cold water storage tank from the existing water tower c) Decommission, isolate, and blank cap the existing cold water service connections to the classroom sinks and remove any dead leg pipework. Note existing cold water service connections to the toilet wash hand basins to be retained. d) Convert the heating system fuel supply to natural gas as the fuel source and connection of the new gas service to thwe boiler room. e) Supply and installation of a new gas fired cascade boilers system, flue system and gas safety systems f) Replacement of the boiler room pipe work, valves, actuators and pumps etc with newservices to suit the new boiler and controls g) Complete alterations and upgrades to the existing heating distribution pipework and radiator systems to replace all of the original 1960’s radiators with new and to reconfigure the classroom radiators to provide more even heat distribution within the classrooms h) Controls upgrade to provide new two port motorised valves and room thermostats to individual cloassrooms, circulation areas and offices to provide independent local control. i) Drain down and thoroughly flush out the existing pipework distribution systems being retained and refill with corrosion inhibitor j) Supply of a new packaged pressurisation unit and expansion vessel and associated controls k) New heating system control panel with BMS and all associated controls and provide a user interface located in the admin office. l) Supply and installation of a new insulated to Format 30 sectional cold water storage tank m) Supply and install a new mains water distribution sys
