Phibsboro Depot Photovoltaic (PV) installation

Tender description

Dublin Bus are seeking to select a shortlist of suitably qualified specialist Photovoltaic (PV) contractors to invite to tender for the system finalised design, supply, installation and commissioning of a photovoltaic (PV) roof-mounted system at Phibsboro Depot, Constitution Hill, Dublin 7. The existing depot is intended to have an asbestos roof removed and replaced ca. May – August 2021 (subject to tender and funding confirmation). It is intended that the successful PV contractor would be novated as a named specialist into the asbestos roof replacement contract. The installation of the PV system would be done in conjunction with the roof replacement works, within the overall programme of the roof replacement (ca. May – August 2021). Varmings Consultant Engineers (VCE) have been appointed to undertake the outline PV design and incorporation into the site’s electrical infrastructure. The successful PV specialist would be expected to undertake the final design, based on proprietary PV design software The roof to be replaced is ca. 1200m2 single apex roof (north-south aspect) over the main vehicle maintenance workshop. It is a double-height space. The works consists of (this is a non-exhaustive list) 1. The works would be undertaken in conjunction with a Main Contractor 2. The Main Contractor will be appointed as Project Supervisor Construction 3. The roof to be replaced is over the main vehicle maintenance area of the Phibsboro Garage.
