Drugs Testing Equipment, Consumables and Laboratory Services

Tender description

Drug testing is at the heart of any good drug strategy and is well established in both custody and in the community. Testing provides Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) with a robust evidential basis to support adjudication and disciplinary processes and provides vital intelligence relating to the nature and prevalence of drug misuse. It also helps HMPPS to react quickly to emerging trends and changing patterns of drug use/misuse across the prison estate and amongst those under statutory supervision in the community. Additionally it helps to identify people with drug misuse problems, signpost them into drug treatment and help them to engage in and maintain drug free living. Lot 1: The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is exploring the capability and capacity of the drugs testing providers market for the supply of equipment, consumables, laboratory-based analysis services and associated logistical services within custody and community settings. Additional information: MoJ is holding a Supplier Engagement Event on Monday 17th May 2021 and invites any interested suppliers to attend.
