Tender description

NAC are aware that many of our care experienced young people are experiencing heightened levels of anxiety and/or poor mental health and may be anxious about their life transition. This has been exacerbated by COVID-19 and the impact of lockdown and ongoing restrictions such as social distancing and self-isolation. To support our care experienced young people build resilience and wellbeing post lockdown and to ensure that they are equipped with the confidence skills and confidence to move forward, NAC are exploring the option of providing creative and bespoke employability programmes. These programmes will be tailored to support and engage our care experienced young people who have left school with little/no qualifications, and who will not be prepared or ready to move on to further education or employment, without a period of intensive support to assist them with this transition. The programme must be delivered in a North Ayrshire location and within a venue close to the support services that the young people are involved with i.e. Meadowcroft Irvine and the Meadow’s Children’s House Irvine. The venue should also be easy to access by public transport to promote independence. The venue should also have access to studio and art space, breakout rooms etc. The service will provide a range of personal and social development opportunities tailored to meet individual needs and circumstances. Programme objectives include: - Provide structure, routine and purpose - New opportunities to develop skills for learning, life and work - Build motivation, confidence, capability and aspirations for the future - Increase independence and future career/employment options - Equip young people to play a full and constructive role in society - Provide young people with SQA accreditations - Improvements in self-value, confidence, communication and other meta skills - Young people are better able to express themselves and think creatively - Reduced barriers to employment with young people moved closer to sustained college, training or employment destinations The programme should be delivered over a 10-week period starting in August 2021 with a maximum of 8 participants. Travel expenses should be provided to each participant and a weekly incentive in the form of an agreed allowance or vouchers.
