Tender description

This contract is for the provision of Cathkin Landfill Consultancy Support 2018. GCC has been working towards closing and restoring all of its landfill sites. The last to close was Cathkin 2 and it ceased receiving municipal waste in 2013. The land profiles agreed with South Lanarkshire Council have been formed in line with the Enforcement Notice to remediate the site. Landscaping work was completed in spring 2016. To improve the ongoing operation of the Cathkin 2 site, contracts are due to be awarded in 2018/19 to upgrade the leachate treatment system. Other remediation work may be required. In addition, there is an ongoing requirement at all of Glasgow’s former landfill sites to monitor environmental impacts and liaise with the regulator, SEPA.
