<p>Kirklees Council is the accountable body for the White Rose Forest (WRF) partnership. This partnership is a local authority based joint venture agreement with 36 signatories including DEFRA organisations, national, regional, local charities and social enterprises. The joint venture covers North and West Yorkshire.The WRF is a community forest and looks to promote the expansion of community forestry across the region. This work is currently being carried out to a high standard with an existing WRF partner with partnership approval. However, the purpose of this exercise is to explore the wider market to understand whether these services can be provided by other organisations outside the WRF joint venture agreement. This process does not constitute a formal tender or other competitive bidding process and will not result in the letting of a Contract. The Council are using this process solely to test the market to gather information and ascertain the level of interest in this particular service.
